A Fun Day

These are a few pictures from the last three days.  There really has not been anything new or exciting going on, so I figured I would not bore you.  Yesterday was an exciting day though, so I'll tell you about that.  We woke up early in the morning and headed to sgu for our student id's and cell phones.  It was pouring all day, so the water was rougher than normal.  This is a picture of the "rough water."  Any surf over a foot is considered rough, and it makes me laugh.  But it was actually pretty wet and dreary outside, so we were not going swimming.

After we went to the beach, we headed down to IGA, the grocery store next to Grand Anse.  Because the carnival starts today, there were tons of people around.  We ran into this little trade fair, which was very cute.  There were venders selling soaps, baskets, spices, fruit and home made clothing. We just wandered around, and when the announcer came through and said they were beginning the beer drinking contest, we decided to leave.   (Stag is a type of beer)

All over the sidewalks in Grand Anse we kept seeing tons of large holes.  We could not imagine the animal that was making them.  Was it a snake?  Some other scary animal.  Well when it rained, these little fellows came out.  I thought they were the cutest little things, so I took tons of pictures of them.

After we wandered around for a few hours, we decided to head back home.  One of our significant other friends invited us out to dinner at a local restaurant, so we decided to go.  We had a wonderful time!  I ordered a chicken wrap for 13ec ($4.50), and it was actually pretty good!  We had sugar and spice ice cream for desert, which of course was great.  I tried sour sop flavor, but I decided on the vanilla.  After we were all stuffed, they invited us to join them for a couples game night.  It was so much fun!  We played mafia and scum until midnight, which is about 4 hours after our designated Grenadian bed time of 8pm.  Overall, I think it was our best night so far!

  1. Love the crabs. Emma & Owen sure would get a kick out of them. An evening out with friends sounds like fun. Sounds like you are settling in nicely. Miss you.
