So, this is officially our second day in Grenada, and I thought I
would share some pictures with friends and family so you guys can see
what our day to day life is like. I am a terrible writer, and an even
worse speller for those who do not know me well, so please ignore any
spelling errors which spell check misses.
So, this is our second full day here. Yesterday, we set up the apartment. Here are pictures of that.
^Our very messy bedroom, when we first opened our bagsOur kitchen/dinning room/ entry door. You can see the Bright green pool outside the door. That is a topic for the next post.
And here is outside this morning, sean looking at a lizard.
They have more odd animals and plants here than I have ever seen!
Our first night, when we arrived at 1130, we were greeted by a toad the
size of some toy dogs. The Lizards we have seen are 4-8 inches, and all different colors. The Island also features tons of wild dogs. Our little apartment complex features two of them, a fat Pomeranian chow mix, and a small ratty looking thing. They are so ugly they are cute, and I think more useful than the security guard.
We also got to go to the grocery store. Prices down here are
unbelievable for some things. 24$ ec for bag of 6 apples. 40$ec for 6
chicken breasts. Fish of course is much cheaper, but since both of us
are allergic that is not a viable solution. I was amazed at how normal
the grocery store was. I was expecting something like a local market. We got all
of the brands we normally eat, just twice as expensive. We got jiff
peanut butter for 4$, hand soap for 2, fresh baked bread for 3, and deli
meats for 12$ a pound(A deal right)!
After the grocery store we set up our phones, and have the ability to call google voice for free!
We were also able to go to the significant other party last night,
and got to meet a few new people. Everyone has small blond hair blue
eyed children! It felt like new ones kept arriving, and they all looked
alike!
